Paradise; exceptional experience

Our stay at the Taaras resort has been 11 out of 10. Firstly, I would like to mention how beautiful the actual island is and the bay where the resort is located. Crystal clear turquoise coloured waters of the South China Sea, and the soft white sand can’t leave you indifferent. The beach is very well taken care of by the Taaras resort. Mind you, it’s a closed bay - for Taaras guests only; meaning no strangers, no crowds. The staff of the Taaras Beach & Spa resort have been beyond exceptional. Every single one of them. I was stunned by their friendliness, professionalism, attentiveness and their willingness to do their best to accommodate us. I did have some special needs due to health issues, and I received the best attitude. Anita, Florina, Samantha, especially Anita, have been assisting me virtually every step of the way, which was extremely comforting, I am very grateful for their kindness and care. Buffet breakfasts were included in the room rate, lunch and dinners were paid separately, the food has always been freshly cooked and delicious, making it way too easy for us to overeat. Speaking of our room, upon arrival the resort kindly provided me with an upgrade, and the room we got was just spectacular, very spacious, with a breathtaking view of the cliff and the beach. It was beyond amazing and it seriously contributed to our level of joy, many many thanks. The resort offers enough activities. I chose to do one-stop snorkeling, which was just ideal for me, not too short and not too exhausting to the point of irritation; I enjoyed it immensely. Our instructors who escorted us by boat, were super professional and alert, carefully looking after every participant of the trip. Overall, this was the exact experience and mental de-stressing I was looking for, and the Taaras Beach & Spa resort has generously provided it. Thank you so very much and wish you all the best.

AMAZING STAY

Never been in a paradise like this one. The resort Is amazing. There are three different restaurants, one Is in the beach so you can have lunch/dinner/drink on the sunbed. There are lot of activities (paid and free). The staff Is a awesome. They are kind, always available, super care of the customer. Room Is Great with incredible view on all the bay. Food and beverage really good. Taaras Is the place to be forever

Great rooms (cliff view) and location. Good diving. Easy place for family holidays.

Connecting room structures - spacious, comfortable, well designed. Staff at beach bar very friendly and trying their best to manage the huge food delays. The pizzas and burgers were good - but the wait for them was LONG. Dive school and recreation staff very friendly. Dive boat and equipment in good condition.

Food variation was limited. Quality of food can be improved to be in line with how the hotel is marketing itself. Service from kitchen on orders was VERY SLOW. The food for a large group came at different times and sometimes wait time was over an hour. This can / should all be an area for improvement. Also did not like the sandflies. We were all bitten many times. Recreation centre could be made to look more appealing - it looks like an after-thought. A random room. Get some large photos of all the possible activities on the walls to make it more welcoming, visually.

The beach in front of hotel is amazing !! Good stay for couple, family and friends. Clean room , good buffet in the morning and friendly staff.

The staff at the restaurant are friendly but they don’t check the guest carefully so we have to wait to order food :((

Terengganu hospitality at its best

Terengganu hospitality at its best. On arrival to the resort, we were greeted by front desk staff member Adilah who was courteous, friendly and professional. We were shown to our room by a bellboy Firdaus, who took time to show us another suite if we wished to upgrade our stay. But we opt out, instead eager to spend our money on food. After having just returned from Japan, Taaras Garden Suite felt like a mansion. The room was really clean and the bed was devine!! We were lucky as our garden suite overlooked the beautiful beach. As we booked a honeymoon package, the bed was littered with rose petals and a welcome chocolate cake, which I hoovered up in seconds- delish! There were a few recreational activities that were organised for us and we just needed to book the times that suited us. The staff at the recreational centre Hasni, Wardah, Din and Amin, made us feel welcome and they were very friendly and professional. They suggested a few other activities and guided us to the snorkelling place. On our last night we had dinner at their brasserie and were lucky to be attended by Imran and Rohit. These two guys were very funny and attended to our dietary needs meticulously. There is no doubt that Taaras resort was beautiful, but the Terengganu hospitality shown by the staff there made it an extra special and memorable holiday for us.

My Utmost Favourite Beach

But whatever it is, I will still come back. The beach ticks all my boxes. Clear water, soft white sands. The beach here is better than the one at Club Med Maldives. True story.

When we arrived we were at the standard room. Im glad I went. Then I understood what my friend's was saying coz my experience at Taaras has always been in the Garden Suite. The standard room is small. Too small for the price. After 1 night there, we moved to Garden Suite. It's perfect. We even extended another night. For the price that we have been charged throughout the years, perhaps an upgrade should be in the pipeline.

Pay to visit paradise!

Our room was amazing! So clean and comfortable. They knew it was my husbands birthday so went out of their way with cake, biscuits, flowers, to make him feel special! So considerate! Staff worked so hard and throughout the hotel it was incredibly clean and well kept. And of course it was a beautiful setting!

To get to Redang you pay a conservation fee which I am more than happy to pay. You then get to the hotel and they are giving out single use plastic bottles ! ... There was nowhere to refill your water bottle around the hotel. Surely the hotel also has a responsibility to conserve or protect the environment too. It really wouldn’t take much to reduce the amount of plastic waste. That was the only thing I didn’t like. The food was also quite expensive.

Massive problem with sand flies, whole family suffered for days. Not much to see during the dives other than Turtles. Staff in the Bars and Restaurant below expectations for such a hotel and price payed.

The Taaras is a paradise on Earth.

The Taaras is a paradise on Earth. You cannot expect better location, better view, better room. The snorkeling spots worth to spend a lot of time on it.

the restaurants don't worth to spend every lunch and dinner there, expensive for the quality of taste. Unfortunately, there is a big lack of communication between the services which provide a poor service finally (forgot about the room dinner, needed to set two times a new meeting time for the yoga, forgot to take the masks for snorkeling). This place deserves workers with more skills and efficiency.

Overall a great place to relax if one can live with little shortcomings.

Friendly Staff and a very nice location of the hotel. The transfer to Redang Island was organised well (used the Hotel own boats). Especially the Turtle lab within the premises was a highlight. Snorkeling and sport activities as well as the SPA offerings are good.

Eventhough the staff was very friendly and helpful, it was quite chaotic and unorganised every now and then and one got the impression not to be in an accomodation which is said to be a 5 Star Hotel. In addition some of the facilities and room equipments were quite worn out and our room smelled stale (due to the humidity).

The beach

The staff were not good. They are in need of training. They make what should be a relaxing holiday very stressful. Food is terrible and hugely overpriced. That’s if you actually get it. The owners need to close for a couple of weeks and train the staff or replace the vast majority.

Overall just a one night stay, pretty liked the view of the beach :)

These place is so exclusive with lots of privacy and the beach is just in front of the pool. Love the environment very much! The view of this hotel is amazing.

Their electricity supply was having some problem when occupancy is high demand, Therefor hotel should up-grade the power supply according to 100% rooms occupy.
